Photography is when my love for hiking & artistic expression can collide, like when I hike an open ridge in the morning.
Because of the mountains here, sunrise is already 45 minutes past by the time the sun is visible.
The clouds cooperated.

Had a late start to a 4+ mile hike. The weather forecast was somewhat cooler in the 80's but oh boy I suffered! I had to take a shortcut and at the end it was just a 3 mile. A long stretch of the trail had a forest of sunflowers on both sides. It was a tough climb (for today's heat) but I enjoyed the flowers. Every time I go there, I'm greeted by different wildflowers.

Yesterday, as the sun climbed over the mountains, I went on another just hit the trail and see where you end up hikes.
It went great.
I also discovered that its possible to hike from the edge of the city & reach Rattlesnake Creek & the wilds.

Fortunately for me, these two pipe bucks were so intent on staring down each other that they ignored me.

Truthfully, I love being busy. Ive long been rather hyper, except when I was anemic as a child & during the years-long illness a decade ago.

Otherwise, life is routine. The weather has fallen into a pattern of pleasant days & cool nights. I walk, I edit, I plan my next hike, probably Friday.

What a hike, what an adventure.
Ive long wanted to attempt this climb, but it was beyond me physically, so Ive waited.
Yesterday, I faced a long trek, overgrown gulch, & a steep ascent on an exposed ridge in the cold wind to reach this view.
Ignore my heavy breathing.

A new bike path is coming together in Crown Point. If I wanted, I can follow this and end up at the border monument at the state line plaza and continue onward to the Chicago Lakefront.

1 mile Easy North Umpqua Highway connects the Oregon Coast and I-5 with Crater Lake, and has several great waterfalls on its route.

It dropped to 45F (7.2C) last night. I snuggled with Evie Cat beneath blankets & didnt want to get up.
Yesterday, it rained all day, which is unusual here.
Were going to return to seasonal soon, but it was sure a nice break from summer temps.

The advantage of where I live is that I left home, went to the hospital, had my mammogram, and made it home in less than an hour.
And still its raining.
This is a true soaker rain, something I havent seen here in years. We really needed it.

I'm sore this morning! Biked 5 miles on Monday, 6.5 miles on Tuesday, then yesterday after biking 2.5 miles for some errands around mid-day I decided to go for a 20 mile in the evening! I really should've given it a rest day before going for such a long ride...
I think I'll aim for a 5 mile ride tomorrow, then I'm going to a bike event on Sunday that's a pretty short distance but it's near plenty of and whatnot that I can add on to make it longer

This is supposed to be our 2nd driest months of the year.
Instead, weve gotten rain every other day for the last week.
