Amazing Art Trails from around the World.

Good day!

When I walked in subzero temps last winter my sunglasses completely froze (I need them to prevent migraines).

Yesterday, my goggles remained clear.

Turkey stock is ready to become soup on this frigid day.

More editing with Evie the cat.

Another sunset on the trail, Sleeping Giant State Park, Hamden, Connecticut. November 7, 2023, 4:29 PM.

5k trail run. I actually ran 95% of the trail this time and can feel myself getting stronger. That.. Or it was because of all the carbs from the pizza yesterday

Good day!

*One of the few instances when I could see beyond the trees because of falling snow.

Currently -6F (-21C). Yes, Ill walk.

Made turkey stock overnight. Epic amounts of soup will happen later. More editing today & will draft a blog post.

Good day!

Back from walking. 10F (-12.2C). 10mph (16kph) wind.

I was toasty warm & had to open my clothing a bit. Once home, I peeled off clothes as fast as possible.

Tomorrow will be a real challenge.

I do this partly so my lungs dont contract over the winter.

Good day!

I am tired after a wonderful day spent hiking in Pattee Canyon. The views were modest, but it was an excellent place to learn to use snowshoes.

Now, the cold. Its 8F (-13.3C) now & supposed to be far colder the next few days.

Great time for editing & making turkey soup.

And always I walk.

Be everwell.

Good day!

Look at me being new!

Snowshoeing for the 1st time on a trail. I went to Pattee Canyon and covered 4-miles (6.4K).

It was amazing, and snowed the entire time, though the sun attempted to shine a couple of times.

How I love my seasons.

09

Good day!

Snow adds contrast, changes perspective.

Its amazing what I see when I change my perspective, when I push through the anxiety that would rule my life.

If I let it.

The key isnt failing, but not letting failure stop me.

08

Good day!

Had to run an errand yesterday. Almost got stuck. They closed the interstate briefly.

Its F (C).

Its time to retake control of my focus & act with purpose. Too much flittering.

So: editing, salsa, figure-out carrying my snowshoes on my pack.

This trail is one of my favorite! It stars just a few km from my house and goes all the way to Concarneau.
You walk to the sound of birds and the river running through.
Very peaceful

Good day!

I seriously believe weve had more snow this month than in the last 10 years combined.

Theyve given up trying to forecast it.

Its snowing.

And turning colder.

A walk, some chores, find my focus, & then try, yet again, to put in a good day of editing.

This trail in Vermont follows a picturesque stream for miles, crossing over the stream many times on bridges like this. While I was cross country skiing on the trail earlier this week, there were also people running, walking, and cycling (fat tires). Fun for all!

Good day!

They forecasted no snow today. That wouldve meant more if hadnt snowed all morning.

5 straight days now

Ironically, the one day I went out for an extended hike in the snowthe snow quit & the clouds moved off.

I still love it.

Missoula, Clark Fork River

Good day!

Hiked east past downtown & into the mountains yesterday. Im still learning winter hiking. I dressed right, but, too spontaneous, I made some incorrect assumptions.

Ill walk this morning, edit Book3, & cook, each day ever colder.

Tangled trees
Lands End, San Francisco CA

Autumn forest, Mattatuck Trail, Fall Mountain, Plymouth, Connecticut. October 15, 2020, 5:39 PM.

Black diamond mine park on a cloudy Day. This is one of my favorite parks. Its super dog friendly, you can backpack with your dog here, and its beautiful all year long. Just watch out for ticks, bats, tarantulas, rattlesnakes, coyotes. and people.

Footprints lead through a snowy forest with pine trees under a sunset sky, creating a serene winter atmosphere.

Good day!

Its STILL snowing (12F, -11.1C).

Yesterday, the horrific wind made it impossible to guess amounts. In places, little snow. In others, drifts. The wind died late in the afternoon.

Maybe this is a good day to wander I should.

I must edit my blog post.

It's an orangey sky (h/t to The Cars). Scoville Reservoir, Wolcott, Connecticut. May 18, 2021, 7:53 PM.

A short part of Ruta 40 in the south is unpaved. Its know as the Malditos but it isn't too bad. It could be terrible when wet due to some sections being compacted dirt rather than gravel, but stick to the lines and you'll be fine.

At the end of that section, I put the bike aside for a bit and went hiking. Pic 2 is of the Fitzroy mountain peaks seen from the hiking trail.

Point of land, Scoville Reservoir, Wolcott, Connecticut. September 21, 2021, 10:28 AM.

Good day!

16F (-8.9C), strong winds, driving snow. Its difficult to tell much more in the dark.

I wont drive, but will get outside. It takes more than this to stop me.

Theres a blog post to draft & targeted editing to continue. Tuesday is my busiest day.

ALONG THE TRACK
Exploring urban seashores reveals much about local history and the changing priorities of the generations.

Once, this seashore was largely cleared of vegetation. Now, the coastal forest has come back to create a linear, bushy zone between shoreline and the houses along the top of the escarpment above, a product of recent generations valuing of nature.

An informal, unmaintained and in places rough track has been made over the years that takes walkers from the boat launching ramp at one end to the surfing beach some kilometres distant at the far end, connecting Lewisham to the coastal town of Dodges Ferry a full 40 kilometres distant from the state capital of Hobart, Tasmania.

Allow a few hours for the walk, whichever end you start at, and carry water as there is none available on the track. The walk is suitable for children and families as well as an easy walk for seasoned bushwalkers.

03.1

Good day!

Up to 18F (-7.8C) now.

Made it to the store by sunrise, came home, walked, and then took my snowshoes into the park behind my place.

I wanted to try them out before I was on a real trail. The park only had hard, crunchy snow. Good enough.

I walked in circles. What fun! But a workout for sure.

Now, its time to edit a chapter.

A touch of winter, Scoville Reservoir, Wolcott, Connecticut. February 7, 2020, 5:04 PM.

Good day!

Scramblingour forecast is wrong so often &, suddenly, it appears correct. A huge snowstorm is due later today.

So, off to the store I race for needed groceries. A good week to make turkey soup.

Perfect weather for writing & hiking this week.

Great little 2.5 mile hike Sunday hike.

Glacier Natl Park

Good day!

After a decade, I have a new pack. So excited! My life is budget level. Doesnt matter. I embrace what I have & make it last.

Todays chapter edit features a character I adore. Thing is, this is the only chapter she appears in.

01

Good day!

Where I live, storms either split around us because of the mountains (mostly) or settle into the valley & stay (seldom).

Were currently splitting.

Ill split time between editing & walking.

But oh how I want fresh snow.

Be everwell.

Last week, I snowshoed to Unknown Pond in Warren's Gore with . It was a 4.3 mile out and back.
