I ran headlong into the wall of exhaustion last night from a lack of sleep, & so went to bed early. Now, Im struggling to wake up.
This morning, its chilly & the birds outside have a lot to say about it.
Clouds are moving in, but no rain. Yawn

Good day!
What a way to finish a month, with a hike. It wasnt spectacular, but it was kinda perfect.
Later in the day, I did yoga stretches, which help prevent any stiffness. This morning, Ill walk & therell just be some lingering fatigue.
Ill also ready Book-2.

Good day!
I went where there are typically crowds, found the seldom used trails, & only saw 5 people in five hours.
The weather was gorgeous. Sunny. 60s (F). Slight breeze. 9.7 miles (15.6K). 1795 feet (547m).
It was beyond perfect, a great way to end the month.

4 Canyon View & Alameda Creek, Sunol Wilderness CA
Canyon View Trail offers picturesque views of the park, leading to some small waterfalls at Alameda Creek Overlook (aka Little Yosemite, but the park doesn't like it being called that).
The return along Camp Ohlone Rd is flat and dusty - I'd have preferred an o&b of Canyon View Trail.

The last 2-years, I didnt start hiking until July. In 2025, Ive already hiked 56-miles (90K).
Im just getting started.
Im also scrambling to ready Book-2 for publication.
Im certainly not bored. Thats good. I live for being active, & being active makes it easier to live.

A deer I came a crossed while on a hike5 Flag Hill Loop, Sunol Wilderness CA
Spring time is the best time for East Bay hiking. At Sunol I hiked this loop, and also the popular Alameda Creek hike. This one was the best of the two.

My first hike at age 66. The mountains are the most welcoming place I know.
Even if my heart aches, I find solace there. My heart skips with birdsong. My pulse races with the chipmunks scampering in the trees. The forest paints calm for my eyes. Im alive.

4 Mountain Brook Falls, Andover NH
4-star falls, 3-star trail. The trail to the waterfall follows closely with Mountain Brook for the full 1 mile trek.
Trail is mostly easy but currently has some (mostly) light surface mud & water along around 10% of the route. Also, the best viewing spot for the waterfall requires a little scrambling since the main trail ends short.

on today's ride I was undecided about which bike would help me to unlock a new route over the hills, so I opted for the ebike for its versatility, curiously this time I found two people walking with their dogs and an old man hiking...
5 Brook Walk Falls, Moultonborough NH
The Brook Walk trail is situated within the Castle in the Clouds estate in New Hampshire's Ossipee Mountains, near picturesque Lake Winnipesaukee.
Following the route of Shannon Brook, the Brook Walk visits no fewer than seven distinct waterfalls and each cascade has its own character.
